"Peeksting" - The Place of Springs or Standing Water

General Information

The purpose of the Paxtang Historical Society is to record, conduct research, publish, and preserve the history of Paxtang using professional standards, procedures, and methods.  The Society hopes to educate and foster an interest in the history of Paxtang and surrounding areas.

The Paxtang Historical Society was formed March 4, 2002, and is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.  We deliberately have extremely low membership dues:  $5 adult membership, $50 life membership, and all children under 16 years of age for free.  We hold membership meetings in April and October, with history presentations by guest speakers.  We publish a newsletter and historical journal twice a year.  We co-sponsor events of the Borough of Paxtang, and hold membership picnics and occasionally conduct field trips.  All meetings and events are open to the public.

Details on our sponsored book "Paxtang Memories" and a list of our recent historical journal articles are given on the PHS Current Activities web page.
